AI Companion Privacy and Memory Controls Explained

Privacy with a companion app is not only about the company. It is about what you type, where it goes, and what you can remove afterwards. This guide summarises what DreamGirlFriends.AI says in its privacy policy; read the full policy for the authoritative version.

What is stored

The policy says messages you exchange with companions are stored to provide continuity, including content, timestamps and the mode used. Short memory notes may also be extracted. Account details come through Clerk, the authentication provider, and payments are handled by payment processors.

Who processes it

Companion replies and memory extraction use the Anthropic Claude API, so recent conversation text is sent to that provider. Private companion portraits use OpenAI through Replit's integration. The policy lists these vendors and says their own privacy policies also apply. The service also says it does not sell personal information and does not use your chats or memories to train its own models.

That is not the same as saying no third party ever sees data. Be accurate with yourself about that.

Controls you have

Per companion, the Memory panel lets you manage what is kept.

  • Review saved memory notes.
  • Remove individual notes you do not want kept.
  • Delete a companion's chat history.
  • Clear both chat history and saved memories.
  • Delete your account from your Profile, which begins erasure subject to necessary billing and legal retention.

A simple privacy routine

Do not type passwords, card numbers, government ID numbers, or other people's private information. Use a strong sign-in method. Review memory notes after your first week and monthly after that. Remember that cleared memory notes are kept as deleted records so removed details are not reintroduced, as the policy explains.
